Friends of Ardee Bog (FAB) was founded in 2019 by a group of local people who came together when word came that a road was going to cut through the proposed Natural Heritage Area (pNHA) of Ardee Bog.

Our first love is the bog.

We also deeply love the Curlew, threatened by extinction. We are learning how to monitor and survey for Curlews all year round.

Our work has expanded quickly to sharing a love of peatlands and raising awareness of their magic superpowers, while campaigning for Rights of Nature on the island of Ireland.

We continue to reach out to our neighbours and have recently started recording Oral Histories from elders living in Ardee Bog.

Your donation will help us purchase equipment to monitor Curlews, undertake an ecological survey, carry out a feasibility study on the creation of a public bog walk with boardwalk, litter cleanup, legal fees, and lots more!
